Coffee is distinguished beverage since it gives you the unique taste and feel. The history of coffee has been told from generation to generation. It is said that beans were first noticed by a smart shepherd in eastern Ethiopia when he recognized his sheep would be more energetic, playful, and agitated after munching the berries of particular shrubs which was later called coffee.

The beans were then taken to Yemen in 525 AD and were used as medication and for religious purposes. The process was developing into dried beans and roasted beans. And the process kept continuing as time progressed into the grinding form of roasted beans and the idea of adding small amount of water to the grinded coffee was followed later on. This beverage was then added with sweetener and honey was the first one.

In 1536, Ottoman armies stepped in Yemen and they figured out the taste and coffee’s invigorating properties. The coffee’s popularity was then spread from Yemen to Hungary. When Ottoman army was lose from Vienna, the beverage was moved to Austrian soldiers’ hand in the employ of Habsburgs. Later, the coffee was taken to Europe by Austrians.

Afterward, the trade of coffee began to spread out. Dutch merchants brought a few plants of coffee from Yemen to Sri Lanka and Indonesia, whereas the English brought a few to India and Caribbean Islands. The coffee trade was also conducted throughout the Ottoman Empire to Venice and some other European countries. In 18th century, French invented a brilliant filtration by putting the coffee in a cloth bag and dipping it in hot water. (fallen)
