Rendang Reaches Its Popularity with Its Distinctive Taste and Recipe PDF Print E-mail

Unquestionably, food has become one of major things for human. Besides filling the needs of nutrition to supply energy to the body, food has been through many modifications here and there to make it special. As time passes by, these modified food has been a heritage from generation to generation, the best recipe or specified ingredients are the main points of how certain culinary art characterized as traditional food. Thus, one of many well known traditional foods of Indonesian called rendang has been approved as long-lasting cooking that begins to go worldwide.

Originally, rendang is well known as Padang food. The name begins to be famous since many West Sumatran people started their culinary business by opening Padang restaurants almost in every corner in Indonesia. Specifically, it is said that when there are three West Sumatran people meet, they will set up and start to run this culinary business by opening Padang restaurants. This restaurant is so much different from local restaurants because of its differ dishes. The history begins when many West Sumatran people believe that their mothers’ cook is the best above all food. This mindset is then developed into a big appreciation for this traditional food. So, it is normal when mothers find out that their children will go far away from them, they will give them well-preserved food that will stay consumable for several days, this food called rendang. In the end, rendang turns into a promising culinary business.

Knowing its ingredient which is cooked meat in a thick coconut milk sauce and the addition of rich hot spicy, rendang with the greatest traditional recipe has been a distinguished traditional food. Cooking rendang needs a pretty many hours because the meat must absorb the coconut milk perfectly until the meats change color into darker brown. Culinary recipe suggests that sirloin may be the best meat to be served in rendang. What is so different between rendang and other traditional foods is that rendang will be more delicious every time it is being preheated.

Delicious foods are easy to go famous and rendang is one of many Indonesia foods that in the matter of fact get international popularity. Nowadays, you can find Padang restaurants in Australia or Singapore. The name Padang is chosen mostly because it is saleable. Wherever people see the name of Padang restaurants, they cannot get away their thoughts from delicious food like rendang. (fallen)
