You may think that one food of a season can only be served in that particular time. Here, you will find out that a special food of winter can be served in almost entire year. It is “Melkkos”, one of South African traditional dishes that gives you the warmness once you taste it. Its main ingredient is milk, perhaps that where the name “melkkos” derives from. There is no regret to have a bowl of “melkkos” with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on the top for you own. For real, it is a favorite food that worth for you to try.

The ingredients you should prepare are:

 

  • A cup of flour
  • One and a half tablespoon of hard butter
  • A little bit of salt
  • Two and a half cups of milk

This is how you make it:

  • Mix butter, flour, and salt together with your finger.
  • Pour the milk on the pan and heat it on the stove. Add it with the mixture of butter, flour and salt little by little. Stir thoroughly.
  • Wait till boil with small fire, let it boiled at least for 5 minutes while stirring it once in while.
  • Pour into a bowl and sprinkle cinnamon sugar on it as finishing.

A warm and delicacy “melkkos” is ready to satiate your hunger.
