Food is important factor for kids in their growing phase. If you have kids, you should choose the best and healthy food to serve because you don’t want your children to be lack of nutrition. Therefore, here are some points about food guide you can keep in mind to teach your kids about healthy eating habit. Firstly, you can start by deciding which foods to buy and when to serve them. You must be really careful in deciding the food to be stored in the cupboard or fridge.

Secondly, from the foods you offer, let your kids choose freely what to eat and how much they want. Thirdly, try to avoid forcing the kids from finishing their meal. Clean-plate rule is not a good decision, thus you must let them to stop eating whenever they want. This method will keep them away from overeat. Furthermore, you can start offering variety of food so you would know which food they like and dislike. This food guide gives you solution to try serving new food, so you can ask them to try the food by offering a few bites.

Furthermore, storing calories drink will give extra calories to your kids so they get good nutrition from another source. Water and milk are the best choice for them as well as juice. Most children like sweet food, but you don’t have to give them sweet so often. You should avoid putting sweet as the dessert for eating dinner. Also, most parents will offer food a reward, honestly you have to avoid this habit. If you keep giving food to show your affection, they will start to learn using food to cope with stress or other emotions.

Additionally, this food guide teaches your kids good eating habits with you as the role model. Perhaps you can pick nutritious snacks, eat at the table, or don’t skip meals so your kids will start to do the habit like you do. Lastly, prevent your kids from the TV-watching habit or computer time with snacks in their hands because this may reduce their active periods. By limiting the TV-watching or computer time, your kids will find other ways to keep active.
