Well, among many healthy foods available in the universe, fruits and vegetables are two among them that may support and give energy to your body. Obviously, there are some important points you should learn regarding the consumption of fruits and vegetables.

Sometimes you feel that you have adequate consumption of fruits and vegetables for daily meals, in fact you cannot make sure whether the fruits and vegetables you consume fulfill the body’s needs or not. Human body needs certain portion of fruits and vegetables every day and the most suggested fruits and vegetables to eat is the organic ones.

The importance of organic fruits or vegetables are many and one of those is the fact that organic products have rich of higher nutrition content and there is also a function to minimize the pesticide contained in fruits and vegetables. For instance, an organic tomato has 30 percent higher content of phytochemical than ordinary tomato.

Unfortunately, you should pay higher price for organic fruits and vegetables. However, there are some solutions you can try to fulfill the needs of nutrition in for your body you can get from ordinary fruits or vegetables. First off, you should pick the fruits or vegetables in bright color. The bright colors in fruits or vegetables means the fruits or vegetables contain of high antioxidant. Thus, you can go for red lettuce, red spinach, carrots with darker color which means bring higher phytochemical. 

The second one is by understanding that size cannot become a guarantee the better quality of fruits or vegetables you pick. The bigger the fruit doesn’t mean it brings adequate nutrition for you and sometime smaller fruit size may bring higher nutrition or even vitamin than the bigger one.

Third, it is important to know that particular types of fruits or vegetables may lose the amount of nutrition if you boil them, for instance, broccoli and carrots will be more valuable for your body if you steam them. Also, you should never ever store the fruits or vegetables more than a week. Even though fruits and vegetables will be fresh longer when you keep it in refrigerator, you should not keep them any longer than one week.

Furthermore, unpeeling the fruits when you eat them is important as well because some fruits give best nutrition when you consume them unpeeled. You can as well try to combine some kind of vegetables in single serving so you can get various necessary substances the vegetables provide you.
