Houses with laminate floors tend to give more natural atmosphere. This close-to-nature floor is more durable and it holds longer. With the resemble hardwood design, you can feel the natural appeal of hardwood and enjoy the forestry air inside your house.

However, the floor may gradually be tortured by abrasive, dirt, dust, or grit from your or other family members’ foot traffic so it may lose its natural shine and look over time. Thus, there are few basic tips you can do to keep the laminated flooring stays shine and naturally look like hardwood.

First thing first is to vacuum the entire floor to remove the particles which cause the laminated floors lose its shines like dirt and dust particles. Find hidden grime on cracks between the laminate planks.

Second, prepare 2 mop buckets and fill them with warm water. Use a microfiber mop pad which has been soaked into the one of the mop bucket and slip the damp mop onto a flat mop. Use it to remove the film and grit particles on the laminate flooring by rubbing the mop over a 4-foot by 4-foot section. Do the same task to other part of floors.

Use paper towels to wipe the damp laminate floors until dry. Make sure that you dry each 4-foot by 4-foot section after you mop it with damp mop pad. Next, mix together one cup of white vinegar, one cup of rubbing alcohol and one cup of warm water and then pour the mixture unto a spray bottle.

Then, spray the mixture or the polishing solution onto a terry cloth towel before you apply it onto the floors. Rub the towel in circular motions over 1-foot by 1-foot section thoughtfully. This process helps to remove streaks and add shine to the floors. Let the solution to air-dry.

After finishing rubbing the 1-foot by 1-foot section, do the same process to the remaining 1-foot by 1-foot sections of the floor. This step should create shiny look on the laminate floor and make it like real hardwood.

In addition, to preserve the shiny look and to keep it clean from dirt or sand, grime and grit particles, the laminate floors should be cleaned periodically at least once a week. You must avoid using fabric softener because it can reduce the pad’s effectiveness as well as a vacuum with the beater brush on because it risks of creating dent onto the floors.
